Two weeks after hosting a lavish two-day bash to unveil his house that was built at a cost of R1 million in Tsholotsho’s Mathetshaneni area, Tsholotsho businessman Ndumiso Sibanda’s smile was wiped from his face by a road accident which claimed the lives of three of his siblings.

The accident happened on 8 December in South Africa in Hammanskraal.

The deceased brothers are Mbekezeli Sibanda (shared the same womb with Ndumiso), Sie Sibanda and Lucky Deep Tshuma.

The brothers passed away with other passengers who were coming from Zimbabwe going back to their bases in South Africa.

Mathetshaneni village head Philemon Ndlovu confirmed the sad news.

From his base in South Africa, Ndumiso Sibanda who was hailed for supporting and empowering local acts such as Madlela Skhobokhobo, Mzoe 7, Insimbi ZeZhwane in the midst of Covid 19, also confirmed the news.

Sibanda is a member of Umzila WeGolide, a grouping of Tsholotsho businessmen based in South Africa, who were part of a convoy of expensive cars at the unveiling of Sibanda’s homestead.

“It’s true, my brothers are gone and its sad because they were coming from the festive season back home.

“The incident happened on Saturday (8 January) and as a family, we are yet to come to terms with what happened.

We are finalising that their bodies be returned and laid to rest on our ancestry land,” said Sibanda.
