Former Idols SA host Somizi Mhlongo has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years and has dominated various fields. From choreography to acting, he has done it all. Somizi recently took to Twitter to share that it was “lonely at the top” and was disappointed that his friends could not join him for a round of tennis because they were at their “nine to five” jobs
Since departing from Idols SA in August, Somizi has kept himself busy with vacations and several hosting gigs around the country. The 49-year-old entertainer also hosted the first-ever horse racing event at Mall of Africa in Midrand.
Apart from that, he has spent his downtime on the tennis court and in the gym. He also visited the sunny city of Cape Town recently and made sure to have a glass of champagne in his hand at all times!
Taking to Instagram Wednesday 12 January, Somizi shared that he was upset because he wanted to do some fun activities but his friends were not available. He opened the video by saying: “When people say it’s lonely at the top, I get it.”
“I’m from gym, I’m alone… All my friends are at ‘nine to five’. I wanna play tennis, no one is available, I wanna go have brunch, no one is available, I wanna go horse riding, no one is available.”
“How I wish, Motsepe was my bestie, because wow!”
Royal FM football club owner and Somizi’s “bestie” MaMkhize responded to the post saying she was available. “You didn’t ask,” added MaMkhize.
