THE hero of the Mutare accident that occurred on Christmas eve,Sirizani Butau has poured his heart out on the psychological trauma he is going through as he recuperates at a Kadoma hospital after sustaining life-threatening injuries while rescuing accident victims.
The truck driver who made headlines after saving lives following a head-on collision that saw a fuel tanker burst into flames near Mutare on Christmas is recuperating at Kadoma hospital.
It is however not a stroll in the park as Sizirani Butau will take up to three months to fully recover from the serious burns he sustained while saving people who had been trapped in a bus after the accident.
“I am still in shock, I still need time to heal my body sometimes my body shakes and I sometimes see the visions I am suffering more psychologically, for the bills I am grateful to the nation I was accepted here at Queen Mary Hospital when I went to Harare for assessment, Mars offered an ambulance I am thankful.”
Doctors estimate that Butau might take up to three months to fully recover.
